Powered by a Champion 500cc V-Twin OHV engine, the 10000 Watt Generator has plenty of power for home backup or job site power. It runs on regular gasoline, propane*, and natural gas. The Multi-Fuel Engine’s low-oil sensor automatically detects low oil and shuts down to prevent engine damage. Electric start and cold start technology simplify startup, especially in cold weather. Uses 5W-30 Oil (included).

The engine operates at 74 dBA measured at 23 feet.

CO Shield Carbon Monoxide Automatic Shutdown

This generator comes equipped with CO Shield, a carbon monoxide sensor that shuts the generator down when it detects Carbon Monoxide.

The Champion 10000 Watt Tri Fuel Generator is for outdoor use only, positioned away from homes and other buildings, with the exhaust pointed away from any persons or buildings.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, invisible gas produced by internal combustion engines and any device that burns a fuel to produce heat or energy. The CO Shield shutdown feature adds an extra measure of safety to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning caused by misuse.

The Champion Tri Fuel Generator Owner Manual explicitly states that the generator for Outdoor Use Only. Keep the generator at least 20-feet away from any windows, doors, vents, or other openings with the exhaust pointed away from buildings and preferably downwind.

According to the Champion Owner Manual and Website, this generator May NOT run indoors. All homes should have a working, up to date, carbon monoxide detector on each level of the home.

What Can a 10000 Watt Generator Run?

The 10000 Watt Champion Generator can run any load or combination of loads that does not exceed the continuous load rating of 10000 Watts for gasoline, 9000 watts for propane, or 8000 watts for natural gas. The load with the highest starting watts must not exceed the generator starting watts by itself or while generator is supporting other loads.

For example, if a Central AC Unit Requires 5500 Running Watts and 11000 Starting Watts, the Champion 10000 Watt Generator could run AC unit, but not much else because the generator maximum starting power is 12500 Watts. Any load greater than 1500* watts would exceed the generator maximum whenever the AC unit starts. Use of a soft starter on the AC Unit could alleviate this restriction and allow you to add more loads. In all cases, compare the generator capacity to the total load taken from the appliance documentation or nameplate.
